93 year old Kinley holds a photo of herself in her village in the Wangdue Phodrang District. She says that she sometimes gets lonely. Of her 12 children, only 6 remain living. And with the exception of her youngest daughter and her daughter’s husband, all of her children and grandchildren have migrated to larger towns within Bhutan or emigrated to other countries to pursue economic opportunities. She says she seldom if ever gets to see them.
