Doña Viviana Alavéz Hipólito is a master candle maker in Teotitlán del Valle. She is known throughout Mexico and the world for her skills. She learned the craft from her grandmother when she was eight years old and still uses the pottery molds from her grandmother to fashion some small shaped candles.
