In many parts of Northern Laos, the river has been the center of life for generations and the children’s comfort with it tells the story. They swim and dive in the water like they were born of the river. Their little brown bodies dipping and bobbing, black hair plastered to their heads, dark eyes glistening, laughing, smiles spread across their faces- like happy little fish.
