Young Buddhist Monks
Three young Buddhist monks walk together during ‘Tak Bat’, or the morning alms. Normally, the monks walk single file during tak bat, but occasionally a couple will walk together for a few minutes before lining up again to accept the next alms donation. In Laos it is common for families to send their young sons to a Buddhist Wat (temple) to become a novice monk. Service can last from three months to several years.
